Thanks to Sheriff Lippa and Major Scott Moser for presenting the many programs the Caroline Sheriff’s Office offers for the public and businesses of the county, most importantly as the businesses develop and how their law enforcement agency will continue their commitment to the community.

Donna Tyson to speak on Wednesday, March 25

Donna Tyson PhotoJoin Wright’s Chapel in welcoming Donna Tyson for an “Evening of Inspiration.” Step away the crazy pace of life and be encouraged and empowered by the lessons Donna has experienced from her missionary work in Haiti and her journey through cancer.

Donna Tyson is a nationally acclaimed inspirational speaker, missionary to Haiti and a recent Triple Negative Breast cancer survivor.   Donna will be speaking at Wright’s Chapel, Wednesday, March 26, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to hear Donna speak but there will be an offering taken to support the Church’s mission trip to Haiti in June.  Prior to Donna’s presentation, Wright’s Chapel will hold their monthly spaghetti dinner.

Spaghetti dinner available for purchase, starts at 5:30 p.m.

Breakfast Meeting March 11• 8 am

After hours at Russell Stover

Many thanks to our host Russell Stover Outlet in Carmel Church who showed us their distribution, candy sales and transportation. Barbara Miller and her staff graciously opened the store to the chamber for Valentines Day shopping as well as gave away several door prizes. PAINT CLASS @ Grapes of Taste: Saturday, February 7, 1 – 3 ~ Paint Class with Amy Nichols with Company N Canvas will be the shop for another paint class.   The cost is $25 per person and all supplies are provided as you paint step by step.  No skills needed.  Space is limited so if you’re interested, please give Amy a call (740-278-6100) or email (companyncanvas4u@yahoo.com).  The wine shop will be offering a special wine tasting plus you can stick around afterwards for the regular Saturday wine tasting.

Saturday, Feb. 7: Polar Bear Plunge, Lake Land’or Beach/Clubhouse. Starting at 11 a.m. Fundraiser for Wright’s Chapel UMC, money raised goes towards helping local residents pay their heating bill.

Saturday, Feb. 7: Benefit Concert featuring Saving Abel at Hard Times Cafe, 4-Mile Fork, Fredericksburg. Enjoy Southern rock-inspired music while donating to an organization that gives back to military veterans. Hard Times Café at Four-Mile Fork will be hosting a concert in association with the National Act to Benefit Veterans and MANARC (Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, Reserve and Coast Guard), a local nonprofit organization that supports veterans.

Saturday, Feb 7, Gospelfest: The University of Mary Washington will host Gospelfest at 3 p.m.  In Dodd Auditorium and features gospel choirs and praise dance teams from Virginia Colleges and Universities.
